Release Time

Renfrew Student Ministries was established in 2009. Renfrew Student Ministries have been blessed for some time with awesome leadership. This leadership stems back beyond our current leadership team. God continues to bless with dedicated and called Ministers to serve the youth of Renfrew Baptist Church.
God has given us a formula to reach the Youth of our community:
Build relationships…We are active in our community and schools, and make every effort to minister to the families of our students. We also provide Family First Saturday’s, once per year, where area leaders come to Renfrew to share with parents and student, separately, on issues such as the dangers of pornography, drugs, online predators, and much more. We have recently had Greenville County Sheriff’s office, Wisdom in Living Life, and such to conduct these informative sessions for our families.
Share the “Good News that Jesus saves”…We are reaching out to the community with block parties, door to door evangelism, Counseling students and Families in need, providing food and clothing for needy situations, and our youth pastor being sports team Chaplin on local teams. We also have Our Wednesday evening worship in the youth facility that is heavily focused on evangelism. The church also has a very active sports ministry that works hand in hand with our Youth Team to provide an opportunity to compete and learn life lessons through sports. We use this opportunity to pray with our students and lead them into a deeper understanding of the strength we have in Christ. (2Timothy 1:7)
Make Disciples…We cultivate the students whom have accepted Christ as Lord of their lives by placing them into a gender specific Care Group with their personal minister who is assigned to them. The Care Group leader is responsible for up to 5 students and takes them to the next level in their spiritual walk. We have Care Group nights every other Sunday night and students go off campus some times to talk and study God’s word over a table or Indian style at the park…They Pray over what is going on in life and the Care Group leader gives life application from God’s word to. The Care Group Leader will stay in contact with their students throughout their week.
Take the word to the streets through the students…Jesus took His disciples by the hand and showed them how to Fish for Men…we utilize the Care Groups to teach how to evangelize and go with them as they learn.
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
•(Jerusalem) IGNITE: We also begun many years ago to invite other like minded churches together for IGNITE (a joint local mission’s project done all in one night). Ignite has grown in the past 4 years and now we have over 12 different teams in the community of the host church on a given IGNITE night. They work together as THE BODY of Christ. We believe we are called to be united on God’s word with other like minded churches. We are blessed to have many churches that work together in our area association and beyond.
•(Judea & Samaria): We will be helping Camp Bethel in Waynesville NC and their community housing project in 2013 and beyond. Our students will help build affordable housing for families whom Camp Bethel is minister to.
•(Ends of the Earth) Nicaragua: We will be opening up mission’s trip opportunities to Nicaragua for juniors in high school through senior in college in 2013.
God has called us to be active. We are committed to being “Salt and Light” in a world that is growing darker each day!
