Renfrew Academy

“Where Learning and Caring Come Together”

Open Monday-Friday

7 am to 5:30 pm

PURPOSE:   To aide parents by providing a Christ-centered, loving, and nurturing environment for the development of young children.
Renfrew Academy is much more than a day care center. We offer a full education program and our teachers are all certified in Early Childhood Development or Elementary Education. We believe that quality is much better than quantity. Our student to teacher ratios are lower than state board requirements, enabling us to provide a quality education to your child and prepare them for the standardized education system.
Our rates are as follows, but we offer discounts to families with multiple children where one or more of those children are enrolled full-time in the preschool program.
Rates: Annual registration fee: $100.00 Weekly Tuition: $150.00 Part time attendees: (limited availability) $135
K5 – 3rd Grade will be charged  a weekly fee of $60 except for during  school breaks when they attend full-time  fee of $150
You may contact Renfrew Academy by phone at 864-834-5300 or by email:

Dear Parents,

The following days continue with uncertainties for everyone. We are trying hard to be good stewards in decisions that must be made. Please realize that our services are considered a “Red” zone. Meaning we are at “risk” providers. Therefore we are strategically planning with many factors in our decisions. Many parents have reached out with several questions. We hope to adequately answer many of those questions.

How long will Renfrew stay open?

We hope as long as we can offer healthy, safe environment for both staff and children. We currently are following all the DSS, DHEC and CDC protocol concerning the care given. We have not closed our program since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. We clearly stated in the Be Prepared letter that was sent home Friday, March 13th, protocol… Closures … This will be determined by many factors, but you would receive any notifications immediately.

Tuition … what do I pay?

We have staff still working, actually a lot of folks are still working remotely from their employments. How do we pay staff without tuition being met from those we serve? After much decision and prayer we have tried to be loving in the following decision.

~If we are offering services then tuition will be charged.

~Decision to self-quarantine your tuition would still be charged as long as we are rendering services.

~If you were asked to keep your child home then tuition credit has been granted. This must be approved by Mrs. Red ONLY.

~If we are mandated or see that the facility has become an unhealthy environment and must close, you will NOT be charged. Should we need to close for an extended amount of time our employees unfortunately could not be paid. Our employees will NOT be eligible for unemployment, due to being a non-profit religious organization. If you are being paid during this time we would ask that you consider giving a financial gift to help our employees during this difficult time.

~Vacation weeks will NOT be granted this summer due to cuts in the budget during the COVID- 19 pandemic.

Attendance during the COVID 19 outbreak?

Every child is welcome if they are healthy and we love HAPPY! If you plan to render the services we provide and were not here this past week (3/16) please contact Mrs. Red by email before Monday (3/23) we are having to work staff accordingly to ratio needs.  HONESTY … we are being truthful with lots of information. Should you take your child to the doctor during this COVID-19 time, we are asking you to be truthful. Remember that protocol is the following … should your child be sent home with a fever of 101 degrees or greater from school they CANNOT return without a doctor’s note.

School email:

How will we know change and updates in the future?

Again, we are striving to make this process easier for everyone. Therefore we have a few ways for you to access information.

  1. School “information” letters
  2. Church website …

Please click under the Renfrew Academy Preschool tab when entering the site

3.Calling the school office at 834-5300

We as administrators are vigilantly trying to stay on top of the situation. Together we are

making collective informative decisions using the resources that are at our fingertips. DSS, DEHC and CDC are constantly sending us updates, mandates and recommendations.

Our hearts should be heavy for families, fellow Americans, our president, and the unsaved world. Is this a wake-up call for America? I do not know, but without HIM all things are impossible. Scripture is our comfort in the days of uncertainties. Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Because He Lives, we can face tomorrow,
